Miss Pre-Teen Texas United States 2019- Larissa Rodriguez
Larissa Nicole Rodriguez is the reigning Miss Pre-Teen Texas United States. She lives in Weslaco, TX with her father, mother, younger brother, and pet dog and cat.
In school, Larissa is an All A Honor Student who excels in reading, math and science. She is a member of the Silva Jr. Light House Leadership Team, UIL Music Memory Team, and was a drummer for her school’s Christmas concert. Larissa is an avid reader who enjoys all types of books; her favorite series is the Harry Potter Series by J.K Rowling.
Larissa has a passion for working with animals and is a registered animal shelter volunteer for The Laurie P. Andrews Animals Center and Palm Valley Animal Center, where she frequently volunteers her time walking dogs and socializing cats. Her platform is Shelter Pet Advocacy and she aspires to give all animals a voice and help them find their “forever furry homes”. Larissa uses social media to advocate for the shelter animals she visits, educate others of important campaigns and events in the community, and to inspire others to find their passion for service. She also volunteers with RGV Food Bank, Texas Adopt-A-Beach Clean-up, Flip-Flop to the World, Operation Christmas Child, the McAllen Rainbow Room, Inspirational Pets of South Texas, Dairy Queen Sharyland, and Recycled Rovers and Friends No Kill Animal Shelter. She recently organized a canned food and blanket drive for Recycled Rovers and Friends and collected over 100 items for the No-kill animal rescue, as well as over 125 flip-flops for Flip-Flop to the world that were donated to an orphanage in Puerto Rico.
When Larissa is not volunteering in her community you can find her traveling across the state working print modeling jobs or on the cheer mat with her level 3 all-star cheer team.
Larissa’s future ambitions include attending Texas Woman’s University to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Biology and then Texas A&M University to obtain a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.
